Definition of a goal – object of a desired result

A revenue goal is an obtainable number relating to past results and market trends that is discussed between departments that can be executed within a realistic time period.

* Good company revenue goals are obtainable

* They are actual numbers based on passed results and market trends

* The revenue goal establishes input from all departments: executive, sales, marketing, human resources, customer service / administration, engineering / manufacturing, finance, IT

* Goals have to be obtainable in addition to everyone being accountable

* Within our organisation we openly discuss solutions that may hinder or help these goals (competition, ramp up period, costs)

* Revenue goals should have a realistic timeline

* Setting milestones and meetings to discuss our progress

* Having a company reward once goals are reached
